Join us as we journey to the scenic southern region of Mexico City, particularly the picturesque rural area of Xochimilco. Here, we'll embark on a delightful boat ride aboard a traditional Trajinera, navigating through the serene canals and visiting a stunning Chinampa, a man-made island with roots in pre-Hispanic times.

Throughout the boat excursion, our knowledgeable bilingual Mexican guide will share fascinating insights into the origins and significance of Día de Muertos, celebrated as one of Mexico's most cherished traditions. As we glide along the waterways, indulge in delicious Pan de Muertos and traditional hot chocolate.

Upon reaching the Chinampa, we'll explore a vibrant field of Cempasúchil flowers (Marigolds; note that the flowers may be cut after October 28th) and discover the cultural importance of this flower during the Day of the Dead festivities.

We'll create a beautiful traditional altar, or offering, together, delving into the meaning behind each element of the altar. Additionally, we’ll take you on a virtual journey to Mictlan, the Aztec underworld, discussing the nine levels a soul must traverse to reach this mystical realm.
