Join us for an unforgettable adventure at Nevado de Toluca, one of Mexico's majestic stratovolcanoes. Located approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) west of Mexico City, near the vibrant city of Toluca in the State of Mexico, this stunning peak is a mere two-hour journey from the capital. Renowned as the fourth highest mountain in the country, it stands tall after Pico de Orizaba, Popocatépetl, and Iztaccíhuatl.

Our hiking expedition will take you to the breathtaking crater lakes nestled within the volcano's basin. The trek, spanning about 3.5 hours at an elevation of 4,200 meters (13,800 feet), will lead us to the larger Lago del Sol (Sun Lake) and the smaller yet deeper Lago de la Luna (Moon Lake). If you'd prefer, you can simply hike to the crater's edge to soak in the stunning panoramic views.

This excursion is designed to be enjoyable and at a comfortable pace, allowing you to acclimatize to the altitude. You can choose the intensity of your hike and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.

The cost for this experience is 1,350 pesos, which includes private transportation for our small group and a certified bilingual guide. The fee also covers entrance fees and mandatory local transportation from the entrance to the crater, approximately 30 minutes each way via local van.

Payment must be made in full in advance. If you are traveling from abroad, you can use Wise for a bank transfer. Within Mexico, payments can be made in cash at any 7 Eleven or Oxxo store, or through a cash deposit at any Banamex bank. If you have a Mexican bank account, local transfers are also accepted.
