BURROLANDIA
Founded in 2006, Burrolandia is a unique sanctuary dedicated to the conservation of the endangered Mexican donkey. This one-of-a-kind refuge in Otumba hosts around 50 donkeys, many of whom have been rescued from neglect or abandonment, with others generously donated by individuals who can no longer care for them.

To support the mission of Burrolandia, guided tours are available. A knowledgeable guide will share the fascinating history of how donkeys arrived in the Americas post-Spanish conquest, the reasons behind their endangered status (due to reduced agricultural roles and being hunted for meat), their dietary needs, lifespan (25 to 40 years), and the various donkey breeds worldwide.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to feed these gentle creatures by purchasing food at the ticket booth. This interactive experience allows you to give and receive love, as the sanctuary ensures that each donkey is treated with dignity, love, and respect—no shows or circuses, just heartfelt moments with these charming animals, accompanied by insightful commentary from the guides.

OTUMBA
Next, we will explore the quaint colonial town of Otumba, where cobblestone streets, vibrant buildings, and a historic central plaza await. Stroll through the bustling traditional market to taste local delicacies, admire the stunning 16th-century church, and delve into the town's captivating history. AQUEDUCT OF PADRE TEMBLEQUE
Our journey also includes a visit to the impressive Aqueduct of Padre Tembleque, a remarkable 16th-century engineering feat built to transport water to Otumba. Spanning over 39 miles and featuring 68 arches that soar up to 75 feet high, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was constructed without mortar—a true testament to the ingenuity of its builders. As we walk alongside the towering arches, we can reflect on the incredible effort that went into its construction centuries ago.

We will depart from Mexico City, with the trip priced at 950 pesos. This includes private transportation for our intimate group, entrance fees to Burrolandia, and a certified bilingual guide.
