During its prime, Teotihuacán was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas, with a population estimated at over 125,000. It stood as one of the world's six largest cities at the time. The city's construction spanned from around 100 BC to 250 AD, with major monuments continuously being built. While the city's existence endured until the 7th or 8th century AD, its monumental structures were tragically looted and burnt around 550 AD.
