Located in the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt pine-oak forests ecoregion, on the border of Michoacán and Mexico State, this World Heritage Site is home to the over-wintering habitats of the monarch butterfly population. Every year, millions of butterflies flock to the preserve, making it a sight to behold. From October to March, you can witness these beautiful creatures in just a fraction of the reserve's sprawling 56,000 hectares. The mission of the biosphere is not only to protect the butterflies but also their precious habitat.

To reach the sanctuary, we will embark on a leisurely uphill walk that takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. This gives us ample time to acclimate to the altitude (3000 meters) while enjoying breathtaking views of the forest and the mesmerizing Monarch Butterflies. For those who prefer, there are horses available for assistance.

To secure your spot, please make the payment 5 to 7 days prior to the tour date. This allows us to arrange the appropriate transport for the number of participants.

The price for this extraordinary experience is 1050 Mexican Pesos, which includes private group transportation, an experienced driver, a coordinator, and entrance to the Butterfly Sanctuary.
