Join us for an unforgettable experience at the majestic Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary ´El Rosario´, the largest sanctuary of its kind in the world.

Nestled within the beautiful Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt pine-oak forests, this World Heritage Site is home to the mesmerizing over-wintering habitats of the monarch butterfly population. Located on the border of Michoacán and Mexico State, just 100 km (62 miles) northwest of Mexico City, the sanctuary welcomes millions of butterflies each year. From October to March, these vibrant creatures grace only a fraction of the 56,000 hectares of the reserve. The mission of the biosphere is to safeguard not only the butterfly species but also its precious habitat.

Embark on a scenic uphill walk of approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, allowing us to acclimate to the altitude of 3000 meters and savor the breathtaking views of the forest and the enchanting Monarch Butterflies. For those who prefer a more leisurely journey, horses are available.

To ensure a smooth and well-organized tour, please make your payment of 1050 Mexican Pesos at least 5 days before the event. This will enable us to arrange the appropriate transport for the number of participants.

The tour fee includes private group transportation, an experienced driver, a coordinator, and admission to the Butterfly Sanctuary.
