Teotihuacán holds the prestigious title of being a UNESCO World Heritage site and is considered one of the most architecturally significant Mesoamerican pyramids in the pre-Columbian Americas.

During its peak in the first half of the 1st millennium AD, Teotihuacán was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas, boasting a population estimated at 125,000 or more. This made it the sixth largest city in the world during that era.

The city is believed to have been established around 100 BC and witnessed continuous construction of major monuments until around 250 AD. While the city may have lasted until the 7th or 8th centuries AD, its main structures were tragically sacked and systematically burned around 550 AD.
