Teotihuacán is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the most architecturally significant Mesoamerican pyramids in the pre-Columbian Americas.

During its prime in the first half of the 1st millennium AD, Teotihuacan was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas, with an estimated population of 125,000 or more. This made it one of the world's six largest cities during that time.

The city was likely established around 100 BC, and its major monuments were continuously constructed until around 250 AD. While the city may have lasted until the 7th or 8th centuries AD, its main structures were destroyed and deliberately burned around 550 AD.
