Join us for an exciting adventure exploring the vibrant Cempasúchil / Marigold flower market and the enchanting Chinampas in Xochimilco, Mexico City. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of these traditional sites.

The Cempasúchil flower holds great significance in the Day of the Dead celebrations, adorning altars and cemeteries. Our journey will take us off the beaten track to a hidden treasure, away from the bustling boat trips in Xochimilco.

Embark on a guided walk lasting approximately 2.5 hours, meandering through the intricate maze of Chinampas, Channels, and bridges where the Cempasúchil flowers are cultivated. Discover the various types of this flower and learn about their symbolic importance during Día de Muertos. Delve into the fascinating history of the Chinampas and Channels, marveling at their ancient origins as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. As we wander through agricultural fields and cross bridges, the vibrant colors of the flowers will surround us. In Nahuatl, the indigenous language, the name Cempasúchil translates to "flower of the twenty petals."

Following our walk, we will visit a traditional flower market and nearby plant nurseries, offering even more Cempasúchil flowers and fantastic photo opportunities. Additionally, you have the option to indulge in delicious local cuisine at one of the traditional food stalls.

The Chinampas and Flower market are located within Mexico City limits, on the outskirts of Xochimilco, approximately 1.5 hours south of the historical city center, depending on traffic.

The price for this unforgettable experience is 650 pesos, which includes round-trip transportation for our small group and guided walks by certified bilingual guides. The event will take place from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
