Join us on a unique adventure to discover the enchanting Cempasúchil / Marigold flower market and the captivating Chinampas in Xochimilco. Immerse yourself in the beauty of these traditional landmarks, which hold great significance during the Day of the Dead celebrations.

Unlike the popular boat trips in Xochimilco, this hidden gem will take you off the beaten path. Prepare to be amazed by the vibrant colors and fascinating history that await you.

Embark on a guided walk lasting approximately 1.5 hours, where you'll explore the Chinampas and Channels, the very grounds where the Cempasúchil / Marigold flowers are cultivated. Learn about the symbolic importance of these flowers during Día de Muertos and discover the different varieties that exist. Gain insights into the creation of the Chinampas and Channels, which date back to prehispanic times. As you stroll through agricultural fields and cross picturesque bridges, marvel at the abundance of stunning flowers that surround you. In Nahuatl, the flower is known as sempôwalxôchitl, which translates to "flower of the twenty petals."

Afterward, we'll visit a traditional flower market and nearby plant nurseries, where you'll find even more Cempasúchil flowers and ample opportunities for capturing breathtaking photos. Additionally, you can savor the flavors of delicious local cuisine at one of the many traditional food stalls (optional).

Both the Chinampas and Flower market are located within the Mexico City limits, in the outskirts of Xochimilco, approximately 1.5 hours south of the historical city center (depending on traffic).

Our next excursion to explore the traditional Cempasúchil / Marigold flower market and beautiful Chinampas in Mexico City will take place on October 21. The price is 650 pesos per person, inclusive of round-trip transportation for our small group and guided walks by certified bilingual guides. The adventure will run from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

To secure your spot, please make a reservation via WhatsApp at 5513083732, Lidia Herrera.
