About me
Bonjour/Salut!
My name is Dan. I am a Franco-American. My ancestors left Québec and Pubnico, Nova Scotia (Acadia) to work in the mills of Maine during the 1870-1930’s immigration wave. My Pépé (grandfather) spoke french as his first language and english. He didn’t get to use his french very often and I thought I would try to learn more so I could ”parlez” with him. Unfortunately my Pépé has passed away and now, 400 years of the french language in my family survives only with me.
I live in the great state of Maine, I’m 29 and I love hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, target shooting, playing guitar and am heavily interested in history (all history, not just American). I also do genealogy.
