I am looking for someone to converse with in Arabic. I study M.S.A and know a little Egyptian Colloquial. My main priority, however, is M.S.A so that is what our conversations would mainly consist of.
Specifically, I am looking for someone who is fluent in M.S.A and is from Syria, Egypt, or has the ability to avoid using other colloquial dialects. I would merely prefer this because Syria's dialect is closest to M.S.A and I am familiar with some Egyptian Colloquial.
As for me, I am a native English speaker and have about a years worth of Arabic language training. I am not fluent by any means, and in fact I most likely fall under the high-beginner to low-intermediate range. I was hoping to converse over a chat application such as MSN Messenger, Google Talk, et cetera a fews times a week (as well as regular e-mails).
If you respond, please include the following:
- Birth place: (country)
- Current residence: (Again, country will suffice)
- Age:
- Preferred means of communication: (i.e: MSN Messenger, Google Talk, E-mail, etc)
I should also add that I am TEFL certified.

![]() | jamesinegyptAugust 2007 Wonderful! I am new this forum and therefore unaware of how to proceed. My e-mail address is as follows: jamesinegypt ![]() On a side note, 'M.S.A' is Modern Standard Arabic. It is an English classification for formal Arabic and separates it from regional dialects. TEFL stands for 'Teaching English as a Foreign Language'. I underwent weeks of schooling to obtain certification as a teacher of English to non-native speakers. Of course, this certification is readily available to anyone dedicated enough to pursue it and by no means makes me an expert in English grammar et cetera. I would also like to add that this offer remains open to anyone else who meets the criteria listed above. I am willing to maintain several correspondences via e-mail in order to improve my Arabic. If anyone else wishes to exchange e-mails with me, simply e-mail the address listed above. I look forward to hearing from you. |
