The key, as in italian are the verbs, if you are a native english speaker that's the harder to grasp I think, since you have no conjugation, once you grasp how to use the conjugations I think you will be half way there!

I as a native speaker of Spanish, I recommend that you learn the vocabulary, how to pronounce, then learn the terminations, rather the conjugations, that is easy, I can help you if you want.

well obviously there are more than one rule, but about pronounciation, a definitive rule is that once you learn how to pronounce each letter in the alphabet you know how to pronounce every word, because the pronounciation of each letter never changes
