Dude is like чувак and mate is приятель, to my mind

"dude" like buddy - чувак,приятель,корешь. this there guy, to which you can refer both to your friend." Mate" this is some like dude but this expression have more exactly personality"дружочек"

"Чувак", "Приятель" the first sounds more informal and that means like 'cool person', the last means kindda like cute version of the word "friend"
