best way of learning?

Hi Guys, I'm a British guy from England.

I just want to know what is the best way of learning Russian? I use a movie for 30 minutes, then 30 mins translating news articles, then 30 minutes translating and memorising phrases from master russian.com and then finally 30 mins chatting in Russian. I'm finding it tough to memorise and use easily new words freely in speech. I don t know why precisely. I know around 900 words right now. any help would be cool!
