the past tense is often expressed by adding specific suffixes to the root of the verb.
ktb is the root of write, which maybe almost conjugated as ”He”
Ana ktbt: I wrote.
Nta ktbti: You (male) wrote.
Nti ktbti: You (female) wrote.
Huwa ktb: He wrote.
Hiya ktbat: She wrote.
Hna ktbna: We wrote.
Ntuma ktbtu: You (plural) wrote.
Huma ktbu: They wrote

1
Suffixes are added to the root to indicate the subject. root is shrb
Example: shrbt (I drank), shrbat (she drank), shrbna (we drank).
--
2
The root verb remains unchanged for most regular verbs.
Example: The root drb (to hit) becomes drbt (I hit), drbti (you hit).
--
3
Sometimes, the vowel sound changes slightly in irregular verbs.
Example: kla (he ate), klit (I ate), klina (we ate).
