已经 is mean for already. such as |我|(已经)[吃]"午飯"= |i| [have] "lunch" (already).
If 过去 is a period of time. it is a word like "before", such as i was an ugly boy before.
过去 can also refer to a verb. If i want to say, something is "past" we can say something is "过去"
Therefore, we can use (过去) and "已经" in the same sentence.

过去is a noun, like 'PAST', while 已经 is a adverb, like 'Already'。
