I know this means "I am from China" which is why I'm confused about 来的. Wouldn't the phrase be fine without that added at the end? Why is that added and what do the characters do to change the meaning of the phrase? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

MiaostrawberryJune 2016 "是……的”is a typical sentence pattern in Chinese. We use this sentence pattern to tell informations like "from where","how;in what way""with whom""when" that a behavior is done."我是从中国来的“”means I came all the way from China, not from other countries. Another example: 我是和他一起来的。I came here together with him. |
