help me with Latin root prefix and suffix

could you reccomend me about Latin roots ,prefixes and suffixes that is usefull in English?

Where can I find them all?

or other ways to know what is an English word roots from Latin and also Greek.

Well Latin prefixes and roots in the english language are doubtless very numberous here it goes a table with a few of the roots:



spect: see, look

You should respect your parents 1 the laws of a country. [look up to]

The police suspected he was guilty but they had no proof. [had a feeling]

Many pioneers travelled west in America to prospect for gold. [search]

vert: turn

I tried a word-processor but I soon reverted to my old typewriter. [went back]

port: carry, take
