I'm a Sri Lankan and a Singhalese. I'm really enthusiastic to learn Hindi. I commenced studies with Internet lessons. But I need a person who is conversant in Hindi, may be a native speaker. Striking feature I found in Hindi is that, it has very close historical relationship with Singhalese but it is difficult to discern similarities due to evolution of both languages. But these particular languages shares many common words and but pronunciations differ in some cases. I like to share this experience with a Hindi speaking friend. Please I beg your help.
