Veil and Sehr how different? When will use Veil or Sehr?

Viel = much/many/a lot
sehr = very

Viel is about amount, or quantity.
Hier sind viele Kinder / There are a lot of children.
Sehr is about a level, rate or quality.
Das ist sehr gut. Das Kind ist sehr schön. / Thats very good. The kid is very beautiful.

Be sure to spell it v-i-e-l and not veil :P

"Viel" can be a sentence closer, but "sehr" never. "viel" is used to make predicates. "sehr" is used to show a high degree of a predicateor a simple adjective. Therefore, you can say "sehr viel" but not "viel sehr". Want to know more? Just contact me!
