What should I do first to learn french?

Should I learn to memorize the vocabulary or learn the formula first?

    It depends what are your mains objectives. I studied two languages: english and japanese. For english, I needed firstly to read (for business purpose). For japanese, to listen to anime. This implied very different methods.

    So, what is the reason why you need to learn French and what is your main goal?
