Hi, the ”l” is here to make the sentence sounds better, since ”on” and ”a” are vowel sounds, it doesn’t refer to anybody.

    Doesn’t refer to anything. It usually used after ” et, ou, où, quoi, qui, si ” to avoid hiatus between vowels.

”l” is just to make it sounds nice.
Just like ”va” (go) and ”vas” in ”vas-y” (go on) : you add the ”s” to make it euphonic.
