red_starDecember 2017 Hello. It's not that hard, Saffy. See the following examples: 1°)J'écris une lettre. (I write a letter) Je chante une chanson. (I sing a song). You can see there is not word (à, pour...) before the complement. Therefore, it is DIRECT. 2°) Je parle à ma mère. (I talk to my mother). Je donne un cadeau à ma soeur. (II give a gift to my sister). Now you need "à" to introduce a complement. Therefore, it is INDIRECT. |
Saffy98December 2017 Thank you I guess I will only become better at this with practise.
bouhfroDecember 2017 Sorry I do not know |
Saffy98December 2017 Thank you so much, Suzie
suzie2899December 2017 usually "le complément d'objet direct" answer the question what? who? for exemple "j'ai bu un verre d'eau" what did I drink? a glass of water, whereas "le complément d'objet indirect" answer the question to who? to what? for example "j'ai donné le verre d'eau à Mary" Mary is the person to who I gave the glass of water. is it clearer for you or not?
