Hello! I'm asking for French language learning programs and resources for my Christmas presents. I know a very small bit of French as I've begun to study it in school this year (which has of course been quite ineffective) and picked up a little when I went to Paris in 2006. I'm very motivated and passionate about learning this beautiful language, and have anywhere from 30 minutes - 2 1/2 hours daily during the school week to study French. On the weekends, I obviously have much more time, and could spend 2 1/2+ hours each day studying French.
Anyway, what are the best programs for learning French? Currently, I'm considering Assimil and Living Language Ultimate French, and would love to hear any feedback about those two products and if they'd work well together. I was also thinking about Rosetta Stone, but I'm unsure about if it's effective. Suggestions about other programs are also welcome. The affordability isn't too important, and I'm looking for top-notch, high quality self-study programs.
By the way, French will be the first foreign language I'll learn. I want to eventually achieve fluency.
