”Everyday” is an adjective, as About_Blank wrote, while ”every day” is an adverb. I believe it means ”tous les jours”.

Examples:

Everyday life is never as exciting as in the movies.

I don’t believe that ”everyday” is used much in everyday language.

Every day, we wake up early to watch the sun rise.

I see her almost every day.
