Ripple Effect:

When what's called a "causal" event leads to one or more "consequential" events. The classic example of "ripple effect" is how the flight of a butterfly can, via "ripple effect", result in, say, a tsunami. "Ripple effect", while largely thought of in terms of physical phenomena, also applies to non-physical, abstract "events" as political change leading to, say, war. Example: The demands exacted on Prussia at Versailles, particularly by France, might be said to have directly caused a "political", "Cultural", and "economic" impact that caused a ripple effect resulting is (1) National Socialism, (2) Hitler's rise to power, and (3) World War II.
