Could you explain this sentence (about poker)

What's the meaning of "ante", "post blinds", "pay the house time" in the following text ? :)

"When you play poker it costs money to see your cards from the deal. You must pay an ante, or post blinds as well as pay the house "time" to participate in the game."

In any game, "ante" is something you put in the pot (what the winner gets) before anyone starts playing. Without an ante someone could fold (in poker) after seeing their initial cards with no loss.

"Posting blinds" is a poker specific term which forces certain players (depending on what order they will play) to post even bigger antes. "Blind" refers to betting without knowing.

"Pay the house time" means that hosted poker games (at casinos or online) take a cut of the pot as their fee. This wouldn't apply to a game in someone's house.
