Someone who can help me with this sentence, I don't understand why I have to use ING ,, also I could use "To use them"?: hand back your books once you are finished using them.

Because you want to say your sentence in present continues do you should use (ing)
It means you start to do something that is continuous now

Hi riichard ! The present perfect continuous is usually used to formulate actions which have just finished, but whose the results raise our interest ( here the interest you are finished is to hand back your book ). Furthermore this tense is used for actions in the past which continue now. Bye !

    Sorry, but it is not present perfect continuos, but usage of infinitive or gerund (ing form). You see, thera are some verbs that can be followed only by certain forms of the verbs, so verb finish is ALWAYS followed by ing form. For more info google gerund/infinitive usage there you may find the list. All the best
