Holiday: Singular. Use Holiday when you refer to one specific date. For example: "
The Christmas holiday" (December 25)
Holidays;Plural. Use it when you refer to a period of time. For example: "The Christmas Holidays" (the celebrations around christmas date/Vacations).
I hope I have solved your doubt.

Sure thing. Both are synonyms, so means the same. "Holiday" for British English and "Vacation" for American English. Even though "Holiday" also stands for a day off work/school chosen by the government/institution. Thus everything depends of the context. Hope it was clear
