Why can't I access the chat room?

I just want to know if I'm the only one with this issue. For some reason, each time I try to access the chat room - even after logging out and re-logging in - I get sent to some other channel with only 3-4 "people" in the list. Is there a specific reason as to why this is happening? Am I banned from the chat room?
