Brother is hermano. A sibling can be anyone of your brothers or sisters. John is my brother. John, Cathy, Susan, and Sarah are my siblings. John es mi hermano. John, Cathy, Susan y Sarah son mis hermanos.

The word 'brother' has a couple different meanings. Sibling only means one thing. That's someone who is your brother or sister, whether related by blood or not. Whereas the word brother can describe someone who is your actual brother or a male that you are friends with.
