About the notion of play

Қазір дауыс бер!

Hello everyone!

I'm Oscar, a game and play researcher based in France. I came across the realisation that play having at least the meanings "play" as in "a playful activity" and "play" as in "having a bit of wiggle room" ("a mechanical piece having some play") is comon across a wide variety of language. Since this is a polyglot forum, I'd love to know, if you speak many languages, if it's the case in other languages besides english, french, turkish, japanese (which is already a lot considering the distance between them).

Thanks a lot and I hope you're having a playful day!

Hello Oscar!
Thanks for bringing up this interesting question!
From a german perspective, these notions exist in the word 'Spiel' aswell (:
Kind regards,
Luise
