- The chart illustrates the telephone calls in the UK during the period from 1995 to 2002.
- This also compares the quantity of minutes occurred by local line, National and International line and Mobile calls.
- As it can be seen on the chart, the most popular category of calls during this period of time was occurred by Local line.
- This type of telephoning reached a peak of popularity in 1999 (at 90 billion minutes).
- However, by 2002 the number of minutes dropped to 72 billion minutes and equalized the rates of 1995.
- The rates of National and International calls rose gradually from 37 billion minutes in 1995 to 61 billion minutes till 2002.
- Finally, the quantity of Mobile calls increased significantly over ten times (from 4 to 45 billion minutes) by 2002.
- To conclude, Local calls were still the most popular type of telephoning in 2002, however, its popularity started decreasing simultaneously with the rise of popularity of Mobile calls.
- Mobile calls still hadn`t reached the rates of Local calls and National and International calls by 2002.
