The verdict of Pantone has been issued: the colour of the year 2014 will be the Radiant Orchid that, according to the company which classifies the colours for graphics and industries, is a “captivating, magic and enigmatic violet.” It is a mixture of fuchsia, violet and rose.

According to Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone Colour Institute executive director, the forefront of chromatic shades hunters, “It’s an invitation, it encourages the creativity and the originality, the worthy quality of a more important consideration in the contemporary society from time immemorial.” The kindness of the choice would be confirmed by the collection of high fashion of spring 2014 and it is already present in the red carpet.

The process of the selection of the colour of the year is very complex and it needs lot of time.

For that choice every year Pantone is a constant research of influences concerning the colour in the whole world, and that involves also different sectors, including the entertainment and movies.
