  • Advice for young travellers

  • Going abroad will always be an adventure, a big step forward.
  • And even when we feel ready and we are completely sure of how the trip will pass off, we will always be surprised and things will never happen exactly the way we had planned them.
  • They can be much better, they can be much worse, but believe me, there will always be something that will surprise you.
  • It can be the town, the people, or even yourself.
  • That’s why I decided to write a series of articles that will contain some advice I would have liked people to give me before I went away and which, I hope, can help other young travellers who are about to take that big step and go on their first big trip abroad.
    • First advice I have to give you: Keep your eyes wide open and don’t be afraid of what is unknown of you.
  • Everything is different, living in another city can be quite frightening, in particular if you go by yourself and hardly know anyone there.
  • But get into it, don’t be afraid of getting lost (learn how to ask for the way, just in case :P), spot the important places near where you stay, carry a good map and go for walks.
    • Observe, compare, let the colours, the sounds, the feelings and all these new things that it would be really too bad to miss get into you.
  • Listen to the advice people give you, look for places that will correspond to what you like.
  • Go discovering, get out of your comfort zone, use your free time to explore and you’ll soon know the place better than you would ever have expected.
