The city on fire
- Autumn goes down slowly but inevitably on the city.
- The sweltering heat of this summer has reached the kingdom of memories.
- The first rain has already watered the thirsty soils and gardens.
- And here comes October, flamboyant, which arises on the roofs, on the streets, on the parks.
- The sky shines of a deep blue.
- The trees put on fire bright colours that warm up the hearts and are delight for the eyes.
- The ground gets covered with reddish carpets and chestnuts that dispersed their scent when they fell down.
- New winds begin to blow.
- New colours shine on the horizon.
- New smells run through the streets.
- Autumn is falling on Madrid and its brick-coloured buildings make the city look like a huge bonfire.
- And autumn here, what does it mean?
- It means the city getting ready for winter, the coats and boots we take out of the cupboard again, the weather becoming the star of all the conversations and complaints.
- It means the street getting full of windows and showcases decorated for Halloween.
- It means the parks set on fire by burning leaves, reddish trees and chestnut we will kick.
- It means the coming back of tangerines, hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts and all the delights of the following months.
- It also means night moving along and nibbling the last hours of the day.
- But it mainly means a wonderful time strolling in the parks when the sun assaults the city.
- A wonderful time seeing, feeling and breathing the beauty of Madrid in autumn.
