  • Christian Ministry of Charitable Help

  • The Union of Christian Evangelical Churches has a ministry of charitable help which means that many churches of the Union try to help homeless people both adults and children.
  • The Good News church of Naberezhnye Chelny has been managing the department of charitable help for more than 15 years.
  • It was found to support those people who need food and clothes.
  • Twice a week they organize charitable meals for beggars.
  • The foundation of this department was stimulated by people who attended the church in shabby mismatching a season clothes.
  • Sometimes they were not just clothed enough but hungry as well.
  • The poor people often tell about their problems which they cannot solve.
  • Thank God who knows and loves them like everyone of us.
  • And if they live then God supports them.
  • The Holy Scripture says, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might…” (Ecclesiastes 9:10a, KJVS).
  • After meeting those people the church found to aid them with meals and clothes on charitable basis.
  • There were invited all who wanted to participate in the department.
  • We considered all possible variants and concluded to conduct meals once a week; also it was settled that all needy persons should be provided with clothes these days.
  • In the beginning, the meals were attended by 20-30 people, and then their quantity started to increase.
  • Even gutter-children started to come.
  • Different seasons have different quantity of visitors, winter has the largest one.
  • Different people visit the meals, the primary contingent is homeless people who lost their families and flats due to various circumstances.
  • Sometimes people from indigent families also call on.
  • We try to surround them with love and care.
  • Some people were assisted to be settled in a house of night stay.
  • The meals are placed in the open air on the territory of building the church’s House of Prayer.
  • We have been conducting the meals twice a week since last year.
  • Union churches of the Republic of Tatarstan serve in distribution of humanitarian aid which is formed by Christians.
  • More than once, the humanitarian aid consisting of clothes was provided to needy people, children’s homes, boarding schools, retirement homes, large families, and old people.
  • Special programs of providing with humanitarian aid were held in Mendeleevsk (children’s home), Cheboksary, Oktyabrsky, Saransk (Mordovia), Kamskiye Polyany, Zainsk, Elabuga, Nizhnekamsk, v Betky, and aid with foodstuff to Samara rehabilitation centre “Nadezhda” (which means “hope” from Russian).
  • Nevertheless, churches go beyond this trying to help every time they are able: by clothes to retirement homes, to large families, by Easter and Christmas presents to children in boarding schools and children’s rehabilitation centers, to old people on World Senior Citizens Day (October 1), by organization of summer recreation for children from indigent and large families.
