  • F.I.R.E.

    • Which is the age of a retirement in your country?
    • In mine it’s 60 for women and 65 for man.
    • Some years ago, it was increased for 5 years. It’s madness!
  • It’s almost the age of decrepitude (at least in my country) when a person usually just can’t work.
    • The average age of living in Russia is 73 years.
    • Man, as usual live less, did more heavy work, but goes retirement later, strange, indeed.
    • Anyway, from any side it’s very late for both man and women.
  • Besides, it’s already not that age when people are able to enjoy their well-deserved rest… Maybe in some countries the situation is a bit better.
    • But I guess not much enough.
    • If there is a movement in the world called F.I.R.E.
  • - Financial Independence, Retire Early.
    • The main idea is saving and investing most of your incomes – not just 10-15% of it, but 50-75 %.
    • So, if you will follow advice of financial consultants and safe just 10-15% of your incomes, then to provide one year of living without job you will need 7-10 years!
    • The other strategy will help to decrease this numbers to 4 months of work for 1 years of living.
    • But most people can’t, not just live within one’s means and even more so to save of 75% of their incomes.
    • Of course, the new branded shoes, iPhone and coffee to go in the morning are things of essentials...
    • I’ve always was thrifty and saved a lot.
    • Not within the framework of any movement, just intuitively.
    • It doesn’t mean I starved, walked around in torn clothes, never travelled. Not at all!
    • It’s just about other things, like expensive clothes, hotels of 5 stars, restaurants, taxi and lots of other unnecessary spending.
  • So now I have a flat, a country house, some amount of saved money and there are no debts or any obligations at all.
  • So it seems my untimely retirement could start.
  • Actually it’s even earlier than the retirement of my mother.
  • Probably it won’t last forever, but now it’s what I want and what I get.
    • I wish you always stay independent and happy!
