    • Scapegoating in the society

  • Some people probably have never thought about the concept of group identity and social cohesion in terms of scapegoating.
    • We all have quite natural tendency to transfer blame on others in order to preserve good reputation.
    • We indulge ourselves in different activities and situation, which can be harmful for other members of a group.
    • It makes a lot easier to make someone pay the price because he/she appeared at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
  • This is called scapegoating.
    • It is a psychological and social process by which one shifts blame who he/she may find vulnerable for his/her problems, failures, and misdeeds.
    • Interestingly, that this choice can be made subconsciously or randomly.
    • A person who has a capacity of breaking taboos or deviate a little bit from the social norm can be scapegoated.
  • Also it can happen with kids because adults around them avoid responsibility and accountability when faced with difficulty.
    • There are few concepts, which represent humans and their behavior as a product of other’s people desires.
    • On a micro level, we all tent to copy or simulate someone even unrestrainedly.
    • Social media is a good indicator of this factor, primarily trends.
    • It’s connected to the fact that people tend to expel or eliminate obstacles which pose “a threat” to their natural order of things like behavior patterns or habits.
    • That explains occurrence of scapegoating.
