The Baltic Sea

• It is so different each times - quiet, calm, agitated or raging.

• And which beautiful sunsets it gives us!

• It is not so effete as southern seas, with Nordic character, but not too harsh.

• It is like strong and taut young man.

• And it is in fact quite young, it formed about 4 thousand years ago.

• The Baltic sea is one of the least salty seas - in 15 times less salty then any average sea.

• An ebb and flow almost aren’t known to us, actually they are, but they give water level fluctuation not more then 20-30 sm.

• On the other hand, storms and winds change a coastline completely - wash away sand, exposing boulders, water goes back or vice versa eats the beaches.

• Even local were grinning about it, meaning that the sea is cold and windy and nothing special at all.

• But at one moment the sea becomes popular, it is a trend now.

• People started to visit it regularly not just in hot summer days, but in any suitable (and not too) case - in the off-season and in winter, on warm days or in storms to enjoy its Nordic character.

• People are sitting down in stumps (from sawn trees that were blown down by the wind) face to the sea and one moment the action begins...I’m not happy about its unexpected popularity, it was much better when there were just a few people, but not those crowds who even can’t really feel the sea, for most it’s just nice photos and tribute to fashion and nothing more.
