  • Money

  • To write this article, I benefited from the podcast “Listening Time”, which I often listen to for improving my English.
  • I recommend it to those who want to enhance their listening skills.
  • Today, I want to talk about money.
  • I think this topic is very important for everyone and discussing it here will be interesting.
  • Money is a vital tool we use in our everyday lives.
  • We can use money in different fields such as spending, saving, and investing.
  • In short, money plays an important role in many areas of our lives.
    • Firstly, let’s start talking about spending money.
    • We spend money to purchase various items such as a house, a car, and clothing.
  • Therefore, there’s an essential rule we should remember regarding spending money: “Never spend more money than you have.” For instance, if we earn 60 dollars a week but spend 80 dollars, it will certainly lead to financial problems in the coming weeks.
  • Maybe, this is not a good attitude for money management.
    • In the past, people didn’t spend as much money.
    • But today, people are spending more than they earn due to the credit cards.
    • Many people are spending a lot of money even if they haven’t enough money in their pockets.
  • If we spend more than we earn, in this case, our debts will accumulate and we will face difficulties in paying them off.
    • Consequently, we must spend our money on essential needs such as food, electricity, water, residence, and clothing.
    • On the other hand, sometimes we buy unnecessary things we don’t need actually, but they make us happy.
  • For example, we buy additional clothes or a new pair of shoes even if we don’t need them.
  • Shopping can be an entertaining activity, but if we have a lot of debt, it may cause difficulties in our lives.
  • If you have enough money or you are a rich person, it might not be a problem.
  • However, if you don’t have enough money, it can cause big economic problems.
  • Secondly, I would like to discuss saving money.
    • We save money for various purposes, like buying a house and a car.
    • Some people save money not only to purchase a house and a car but also for unforeseen difficult times in the future.
    • However, saving money without any purpose may not be logical because there will be much money in your bank account when you pass away.
  • I think we should take balanced steps while spending and saving money, just as we take careful steps to maintain balance while walking.
  • Lastly, I’d like to mention investing money.
  • Many people invest in things to protect the value of their currency against inflation.
  • When inflation occurs, the value of a currency decreases, and prices rise just like in many countries around the world.
  • Therefore, many people want to invest in order to avoid the negative effects of inflation.
