The Panacea

• Counterweight usual weather in December now we have really winter.

• There are lots of snow and cold weather and I thinking with sadness about next week, when it is going to be over… Actually winter here usually is grey and rainy and it is very boring and depressed.

• So this year, already by the first of December I have decorated my home with spruce garland, wreath and lights.

• All in order to hide that greyness.

• The other panacea for me is candles.

• This soft light of live fire is magic, it gives peace and comfort.

• So in winter I always make candles, natural wax candles.

• Usually I use for it a special beeswax foundation, which in Russia called Voshchina.

• Voshchina is thin wax sheets with extruded hexagonal bottoms of bee cells.

• It makes for bees easier and faster to build honeycombs, so they become more productive.

• Also Voshchina is often used for candles.

• Because there is nothing easier than put a wick on the list of Voshchina and roll up.

• This year I also tried to make candles from a usual piece of wax.

• There is also nothing difficult, just meld a wax, set a wick and pour wax into mold.

• So the winter conducive to creativity, which is nice in itself and the results gives you a feel of Hygge as Danes would said.
