  • My story started when I was in my second year of college.
  • My college girls and I faced a difficult period inside the university dormitory, due to the turbulent security conditions that Iraq was going through.
    • We had many problems, the most important of which was the lack of security guards, power outages, the accumulation of waste…etc.
    • The terrorist attacks and the curfew leads to blocking roads and increase the burden on the officials to do their work well.
    • Which prompted me to volunteer to be a representative of more than 100 students, and after the approval of the administration, I started my work by building good relations between my colleagues and the housing administration, and then I was able to solve 80% .
    • I also established a welfare fund to raise money and support more than 20 female and displaced students inside a housing to complete their education.
  • The result was that the students obtained a good and affordable university education, and consequently the percentage of women working in the health sector increased.
    • Six months after my graduation, I was appointed to the Ports Hospital/ Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging, I noticed a problem, which is the lack of training and qualification of physicists to work in the health sector.
  • I knew that I could solve this, which I did by training 3 physicists and raising the level of their skills.
    • I want strong relationships with most of the doctors and staff of the department.
    • As a result, after only 3 months I was promoted to work in the C.T and MRI department, I performed various tests, trained physicists and students and improved their skills to higher levels.
  • As a result, the number of patients who received medical imaging examinations increased to Three times the previous number, with higher accuracy and greater geographical distribution.
    • Currently, I launched an awareness campaign within my current work and speciality, for early detection of breast cancer.
    • I published posters and gave lectures in hospital departments, schools and universities, in the presence of dozens of women and providing services.
    • Preparing the discovered infected cases at a rate of 25-70%.
    • I maintain communication and hold meetings with relevant officials, change makers and co-workers who can all help me with the possibility of adding breast examinations within the compulsory examinations that women perform when marriage and work…etc., thus reducing the rate of infection that occurs It increased at an average rate of 10% per year to its lowest level.
  • In the end, I see that I have the ability to be a leader and influence in my community and a female role model and that having Chevening and my advanced medical imaging specialization will provide me with the necessary knowledge and skills that will help me achieve my professional goals and develop my country.
