Is there the dusk time or even night there?

You can see the reason, why i am so melancholic right now, but you can not see my thoughts of such melancholy.

I suppose, it represents fleetingness of time and how accustomed phenomena can acquire new meaning.

Or do they just show the unseen parts of them, hidden previously?

Imagine: not for long time in the past the nigth’s darkness was terrifying for people, for there was almost no light sources outside of buildings, and those wich remained among the grimm silence of night were very dull, weak.

And it is without even speaking about inner spaces of houses - candles and oil lamps were trembling, faint things, being unable to banish creeping shadows from any room entirely, only keeping them at some kind of bay in the corners and distant parts of those rooms, where they were always waiting for a intimidated someone, just to lay their cold and formless hands on one’s body and drag the prey into the real darkness from light.

Yet quite recently electricity was tamed, not just tamed, but wielded as an instrument, like fire was for long time ago.

Gradually, streets of cities were decorated by light bulbs, and night lost most of its grimness, became something which resembles an old attic: dusty and dull although not eery.

The burden of darkness and slavery of the diurnal cycle was overcome, even people’s schedules shifted closer to the midnight time, sometimes even past of that one.

Yet such state of affairs is quite a fragile thing, merely an accident and shadows will flow from their hideouts to remember us how close there are fears.

However a shadow is not a source of fear by itself, the mind trembles before something presumably lurking in it.

Mayhaps because of that monsters are rarely encountered under the bright sun, yet below night’s shroud they are countless.
