Mission to Mars in the next future
- After 1969, when Apollo 11 put a man on the moon, many expected a trip to Mars.
- The good news about the long wait is that NASA has launched some exciting missions in recent decades.
- Space missions were slashed and dreams of visiting the Red Planet dimmed.
- That may soon change everything.
- According to NASA, there are a number of obstacles that we still need to overcome before sending a human mission to Mars.
- For example, the right technology to make such a trip choosing the best kind of fuel, figuring out how the long periods of low gravity will affect humans, timing and many details to work out.
- So, humans may land on the Red Planet in the 2030s.
- But today, Mars is really the only planet that sits within the habitable orbit around our sun to interplanetary destinations beyond Earth.
- According to scientists, humans taking the 40 million mile trip to Mars may age faster than people remaining on Earth.
- Experts from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, are hunting for a way to stop it happening and if it is, they would want to do some work in preparation for a longer mission before anyone launches for Mars.
