Description of two sculptures
- The first document is a photography representing a figurative carving of Henry Moore.
- There are two characters : Madonna and Child.
- The Madonna sits on a bench.
- The child sits on his mother’s knee, and he puts his hand on his mother’s left one.
- Madonna touches the right shoulder of Jesus.
- Both of them wear tunic.
- The sculpture of the second photography is also a Madonna and Child but contrary to the precedent one, they are reclining figures.
- An other difference is that their bodies are curving shapes, which give an abstract aspect to this sculpture.
- Moore decided to simplify their limbs so much so that they seem ligns.
