May Day

• On the 1 of May in my country is celebrated The day of Spring and Labor.

• This year, by the way, 1st May was on Saturday.

• So I chose the best way to spend this day - I went to Subbotnik.

• Subbotnik is voluntary collective socially useful work (usually it is territory cleaning and landscaping) free of charge and produced on Saturday (which in Russia sounds Subbota, so Subbotnik).

• In Kaliningrad is a group of enthusiasts which called Ruin Keepers.

• They are care about heritage of East Prussia, which was on the territory of Kaliningrad region.

• This time it was Gerdauen’s Church (14th century).

• During 3 hours were cleaned internal space and territory around, shrubbery was cut down and large amount of bricks collected.

• Then we got hot lunch and excursion from local residents.

• So May Day was productive - useful and pleasant.
