    • Humans love to measure things in order to calculate how much they need something, When it comes to measure anyone’s knowledge the most traditional way is used for that is testing through examinations.
    • Most educational institutions are use exams in order to test what students do through term examination tests, believing that it is the best way to test their level.They think  that the results of this test determine whether the student is smart or not.
    • These exams are useful in measuring several factors of intelligence in a student but the real question that arises, is this system of examination a good measuring process for a person’s knowledge?
    • The test is a great psychological stress on students, as most systems require the student to study a long material in a short time.That is, all that the student learned previously depends, at a rate of more than 50 percent, on a one or two-hour examnd .That’s not fair, because the student has been subjected to a severe condition that prevents him from taking the exam, or he may have fear of the exam, so he can’t do well.Exams are giving a kind if stress on the students which can effect on their physical mental and social development.The student from a younger age couldn’t even have any idea to deal with that pressure and stress.
    • Many students are compelled to use various methods of cheating in the exams, and this makes the exam lose its credibility and its ability to evaluate in an accurate manner,Despite sophisticated cheat detection methods such as cameras, scanning of the body and others, cheating methods are evolving as well, and a worse type of cheating is that someone else performs the exam instead of the student.
    • This shows the failure of the main purpose of the exams.
    • Accordingly, the testing results are often unreal and do not reflect the actual level of the students.
  • Many people say that the exams are the easiest and most successful way to measure what students have learned, as the teacher can test a large number of students in a short time, and do not need complicated techniques or methods of assessment.
    • There are many electronic exams that are corrected automatically so this makes  teacher bothered to correct.
  • The exam measures part of what the student has learned, but it is not considered comprehensive, as it focuses on the ability of the mind to memorize and remember, but neglects other skills.
