Preparing for the 2013 Summer World Student Games.

The Start in 2011-2012.

Volunteers began to prepare for the Student Games since the very 2011.

The youth of the Union of Evangelical Churches of Tatarstan could not avoid joining in and its team of 8 took part in the Youth Interconfessional Conference called “Inspiration” in the city of Kazan from 1 to 2 April 2011.

The organizer of the Conference was the international sport association “Dorozhe Zolota”.

We were inspired at the conference to preach the gospel and serve people through the art, culture and sports.

There were held various masterclasses; they showed how to achieve effectively children, youth and other age groups by the Good News via yard games, theatrical performances, music, sports and etc. On the second day of the Conference our group went to the Sports Palace of Kazan and put into practice what we had been taught.

We were playing different games with children in the street for about two hours.

Clowns were inviting children for playing, somebody was making different animals out of balloons and presenting children with them free of charge, someone was drawing with children on the concrete, the older children participated in sport “funny starts”.

We had so much fun; every conference participant tried his best to serve children and teenagers.

Then a sport game rugby got started.

Christian combined team played against a professional team from Kazan.

We and the children we had recently acquainted with were rooting for our team.

Despite our loss to professionals the Kazan team noted that the Christian team had been friendly and played fair and had a lot of fans.

Those games gave an excellent opportunity to make friends with the children and teenagers and exchange contacts.

The guys who participated in the Conference organized a sport ministry “Dorozhe Zolota” in the church of Naberezhnye Chelny.

We were renting a gym for 2011-2012 where we played football and volleyball every Saturday.

It was a perfect opportunity to invite unchristian teenagers and young people for sport games and serve them with love.

In addition we started to organize yard games for orphan children in orphanages and boarding schools.

These games make us closer to each other.
